Security Fence and Guard Post Improvements

    Owner: Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport
    Client: The Lions Group
    Market: Airport Infrastructure
Areas of Expertise: Concrete, and Concrete Pavement

    Duration: 6 months

    Total Value: Under US$500,000

Contract Date:10/23/2000

The project consisted of replacement of the perimeter fencing and concrete paving of multiple vehicular entrances.
As part of this Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport project, Precision 2000, Inc. built multiple 9" thick concrete slabs as part of the improvements to vehicular entrances. As the concrete pavement had been deteriorated, it was demolished, and the area was prepared and new concrete pavement placed. In others areas concrete pavement for new entrances was placed, along with curb and gutter. The perimeter security fence was replaced for a new one in order to comply with new FAA’s standards. The security fence consisted of a chain link fence supported by a concrete wall base. The concrete base was formed and poured on site since the terrain did not allow for slip form machines to be used.
Security was a key element in this project; while the new fence was being built, a temporary fence was raised to maintain the tight security at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
